Composite (Resin) Restorations

• These tooth colored fillings are biocompatible and have become the material of choice for treatment of cavities and for replacement of amalgam (silver/mercury) fillings.
  

Amalgam / Silver Filling Removal

• Dr. Malek realizes that many patients are concerned about Amlagam (silver / mercury) filling removal and mercury vapors and its effects on their health.  Due to this concern, our office strives to remove amalgam fillings in a safe manner and we are able to replace them with a biofriendly bonded restoration.   In order to accomplish this, we follow removal guidelines based on the recommendations of some of the prominent biological and holistic dental organizations such as the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicolology.
  

Crowns

• Crowns (or caps) are dental restorations that are placed over a tooth when the tooth needs a stronger support than just a filling.   A crown is an option when restorations/fillings are insufficient to restore form and function of a tooth.
  
  A crown can be made entirely of tooth-colored material, metal, or a combination of the two in order to provide optimal aesthetics. Some metal-free crowns and bridges incorporate stress-bearing materials to enhance their strength and wear-resistance
  

Bridge

• A bridge serves to replace a missing tooth or teeth. A bridge can also be supported by dental implants. Bridges can also be made entirely of tooth-colored material, metal, or a combination to provide optimal aesthetics. Some metal-free crowns and bridges incorporate stress-bearing materials to enhance their strength and wear-resistance.
  

Inlays and Onlays

• You can think of a dental inlay or onlay as being midway between a filling and a crown. Inlays or onlays are used when not enough tooth structure remains to support a filling, but the tooth is not so severely damaged that it needs a crown.

• Veneers
  Your smile affects how you look and feel about yourself. Veneers are handcrafted, custom-made porcelain shells specially prepared to correct some aesthetic problems in people’s smiles. At-Home Whitening

• This option will require an initial visit to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. Once determined, we provide you with custom fitted bleaching trays. These comfortable trays hold a special gel that whitens your teeth over a period of 7-10days. Based on the type of gel, you can wear the trays overnight or during the day.
  

In-office Whitening

• At Malek Dental we also offer the ZOOM!® Whitening system. This is a safe, effective and long lasting whitening method that can be done in one visit. This procedure can only be done by a dental professional. During the time of procedure, you can relax on our massage mat, enjoy a warm neck wrap and listen to music or watch a movie

Root Canal Therapy

• Root canal/Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the tooth, becomes inflamed or infected due to a variety of causes such as deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, injury to the tooth, or a crack in the tooth. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess. During a root canal treatment, the inflamed or infected pulp is carefully cleaned and sealed. Your tooth is then restored and can function just like any other tooth.
